The next part of the project is recreating a film poster, but before you do that you need to ensure that you fully understand the layout of film posters and the typography which they use so that you can be thoughtful and creative when it comes to adding these elements to your recreation.
Task 1: Watch the video to learn more about how movie poster creators choose their layouts/typography. |
|
Task 2:
Green (grade 1/2) a) Pick four posters from your genre mood board. b) Draw the posters, simplifying the shapes of each element in order to create a layout research page (see my examples and my video if you are unsure what this should look like). Remember to make the size, shape and colour of each element visible in your drawing (including typography). You may choose to do this by hand or digitally. Using the shape tool in Powerpoint is a great way of completing this task. Amber (grade 3/4) a) As with the green task, but pick six posters to simplify. Try to match the colours as accurately as possible and use similar fonts/sizes. b) Reflect on your learning by annotating your layout research. |
|
Task 3:
a) Add the title of 'Layout research' to your site. b) Photograph your drawings if they have been completed by hand and upload them to your site. If working digitally upload your work to your site underneath your title. Remember to 'share' your slides if you creates you work with Google Slides. You can upload an image of the original posters you were working from if you like, as well. |
