The types of lighting we are exploring during this stage of our research are incredibly varied and extreme forms of lighting, but it's important that you also understand how more subtle changes in the size & direction of your light can effect your overall image. Red (grades 6+)
a) If you have not yet watched the video, watch from 1:26 onwards to learn more about the subtle ways we can use studio lighting to create more complex lighting set-ups. You might like to use some of these ideas when completing your shoot for this homework, or you might like to play with these later on as you continue with this project. b) Take one photoshoot (with at least 18 photos) of the same person, with each photograph using different lighting (3 photographs for each type of lighting):
- Use compositional guidelines in your photographs (such as simplicity, dramatic angles, rule of thirds) to make your portrait more successful/interesting. - Experiment with different backgrounds |
