You can use different viewpoints to change the feeling of any shot which you take. Generally speaking a photographer should experiment with their viewpoint during a shoot, they won’t necessarily just set the camera up and leave it in the same position, they will move themselves around their subject in order to take photographs of it from a variety of different angles. If there’s a shot that you really want but when you look back at your first attempt it looked kind of iffy, a simple change of perspective may get you what you’re looking for and make you see the subject in a different way. |

Task 1:
Watch the video to learn more about tangents and how/why we avoid them when composing our images. This will be all the more important during today's lesson as you will be actively moving the camera around to find the best angle to photography your objects from, so try not to create any tangents when taking your photographs. |

Task 3:
a) Select your favourite photo and open it in Affinity Photo. b) Crop this image to enhance the composition of your photo. c) Make it black and white by going to Adjustments, change to Black & White. d) Then edit the contrast by changing Brightness and Contrast. e) Export the photo as a PNG or Jpeg with the title 'Viewpoints/Angles - first edit'. f) Repeat with your second favourite photo and export it with the title 'Viewpoints/Angles - second edit'. |
