Now that you have had some time to read through the possible exam themes and have picked one to explore in more detail, I would like you to take some initial photographs which you think relate to the theme you have chosen.
These photographs do not have to be linked to any photographers you have found during your initial research, however this is a great opportunity to carry out one of your initial ideas from the mind map you have created in lessons.
Green (grade 1/2) a) Take at least 8 photos inspired by your chosen theme. b) Upload your photos into a contact sheet underneath your mind map. c) Place your two favourite photos from your shoot side by side, in large, underneath your contact sheet. d) Put a title above your gallery of 'Initial response to (your chosen theme)'. Amber (grade 3/4) a) Take 8-12 photos inspired by your chosen theme. - Think about lighting, (time of day if using natural lighting) angles, the overall composition of your images, your choice of model, costume, props and background. - Ensure that all of your photographs are in focus, and have used camera settings appropriately. b) Upload your photos into a contact sheet underneath your mind map. c) Place your two favourite photos from your shoot side by side, in large, underneath your contact sheet. d) Put a title above your gallery of 'Initial response to (your chosen theme)'.
Red (grades 5+) a) Take as many photographs as you like, but remember - quality over quantity! - Think about lighting, (time of day if using natural lighting) angles, the overall composition of your images, your choice of model, costume, props and background. - Ensure that all of your photographs are in focus, and have used camera settings appropriately. - Try to vary the angles from which you take your photographs, how close you are to your subject, which parts of the scene you are zooming in on etc. in each of your photos. b) Upload your best 12 photos to your site underneath your mind map. c) Place your two favourite photos from your shoot side by side, in large, underneath your contact sheet. d) Put a title above your gallery of 'Initial response to (your chosen theme)'.
