During our upcoming lessons you will be researching and responding to the work of Andrew Whyte at school, but it is important to respond to his work at home, as well. This is because Andrew Whyte's work is hard to respond to in a school setting because he often places his mini figures in outside situations. Try to be creative with where you take your figures - could they go to the beach or to a landmark? Remember that because you are taking photographs of objects (still life) you should demonstrate your understanding of aperture, focus and composition in your photographs.
Task 1: Green (grade 1/2) - Complete one shoot where you take 12 photographs in response to Andrew Whyte.
Amber (grade 3/4) -Complete two shootswhere you take 15-20 photographs.
Red (grades 5+) - Take as many photographs as you wish. Variety is key - try to vary the angles from which you take your photographs, how close you are to your subject, which parts of the scene you are zooming in on etc. Ensure that all of your photographs are in focus, and are both clear & concise. Remember to play with compositional guidelines in your images.
Task 2: a) Add your homework photographs to your Google Drive b) Upload your photos to your site underneath the Andrew Whyte response photos you took at school (you might not have uploaded or even taken these photos yet, just remember that your shoot at home should go underneath your shoot at school). c) Put a title above your images of 'Second Andrew Whyte Response Contact Sheet'.
